A trauma facility is a healthcare facility that is capable of comprehensive treatment of seriously injured persons and is part of an emergency medical services trauma system.

Citizens Medical Center consistently meets the standards required to maintain designation and provide quality patient care to trauma patients. This type of care is a continuum that includes pre-hospital, acute care, rehabilitation, and prevention and education. The goal is to get the injured patient to definitive care in the shortest possible time and deliver optimal care for all injured patients.
