Welcome to Citizens Medical Center!

Whether you are visiting Citizens Medical Center for outpatient services, or whether you are friends and family of a hospitalized patient, we want to welcome you. You are important. Friends and family play a vital role in helping our patients recover faster and be discharged more quickly. You’re always welcome during visiting hours and we have worked to provide amenities that will make you and our patients more at home here.

Regular Visiting Hours

We feel it is beneficial for a patient to be near loved ones during their stay in the hospital. Our primary goal is to help your friend or loved one recover as soon as possible, and it’s important for your loved one to see friendly, familiar faces while in the hospital.

That’s why visitors are welcome throughout the day from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily. During certain times when the nursing staff or physicians need to check the patient, visitors will be asked to leave the room momentarily. Please remember that rest is very important during the recovery phase of your loved one’s illness. For this reason, all critically ill patients are encouraged to rest and sleep as much as possible. We ask that those visiting the ICU keep their visits to 15 minutes and arrive around the following times.

Visiting hours in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are:

  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

  • 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Please note that these are approximate times and may vary depending upon the condition of the patient, and emergencies may cause delays or cancellations. Visits longer than 15 minutes may tire the patient. To better enable us to care for your loved one, we ask that only two visitors per patient be permitted to visit at any given time. During emergency situations, visitors may be asked to leave the unit.

Food & Beverages

Citizens Medical Center provides a number of different venues to take care of everyone’s nutritional needs.

  • Full-Service Cafeteria: Monday - Friday, 7am - 2:30pm

  • Heart Rock Café: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 5pm

  • HealthPlex Deli: Monday - Thursday, 5am - 9:30pm | Friday, 5am - 8:30pm | Saturday, 7am - 5pm | Sunday, 12p - 5p

Gift Shop

Located in our main lobby, the hospital Gift Shop is operated by our Auxiliary to provide enjoyment and ease of shopping for our patients, visitors, and staff. It is decorated for each holiday of the year, and always provides an array of lovely gifts, flowers, balloons, plants, and cards.

Gift Shop hours are:

Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Wireless Internet

Citizens Medical Center is proud to offer a free service allowing you to connect to the Internet using your personal computer or other Wi-Fi enabled device while in our facility. We offer this service as a courtesy to our patients, their families and guests.

Citizens Smoking Policy

To preserve and protect the health of our patients, Citizens Medical Center became a smoke-free facility on July 1, 2005.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the hospital campuses — the Citizens Medical Center main campus as well as at any of the Clinics, Citizens HealthPlex, and medical office buildings. This includes the outside patios and the surrounding grounds and parking lots. The previously designated areas for smoking are now open-air patios for our patients, visitors, and employees to enjoy. Thank you for respecting this policy.

Chapel

Located across from our gift shop, the chapel provides a calming, reverent place welcoming patients and guests of every faith.
